From Your Care Team
At Clergy Trust, your health and wellness is our top priority. Your Care Team is here to help you learn about ways to stay healthy over your lifespan and take simple preventive measures which can make a big difference as you continue living out your vocation.
Watch for emails with more information about wellness seminars, lectures, or clinics in your area.
We visit priests who are in the hospital and often do wellness checks for priests living on their own. If you know of a brother priest who has been admitted to a hospital or are concerned about the welfare of a brother priest please contact us.

Comprehensive Emotional Wellness Program
Cardinal Seán O’Malley has been a strong advocate for the physical and emotional wellness of all incardinated priests in the Archdiocese. To address these specific needs, he directed Clergy Trust to create the Comprehensive Emotional Wellness Program.
The program consists of three resources which are available to all priests of the Archdiocese:
- Wellness Seminars
- Confidential Mental Health Resources
- Priests available for Spiritual Direction
Click here for spiritual direction resources.
Wellness Seminars
Clergy Trust administers a series of wellness seminars each year, which are available to all priests. Please look for invitations to upcoming wellness seminars.
Confidential Mental Health Resources
Emotional and mental well-being sometimes requires conversations with people you can trust. Clergy Trust has arranged for resources so that these conversations can take place in a confidential, safe, and supportive environment.
Matthew McGonagle, M.D. has been placed on Clergy Trust retainer to be available at all times to diocesan priests for confidential consultation and referral. His contact information is here:

Preferred Mental Health Providers
Clergy Trust has set up a confidential network through Tufts Health Plan for you to obtain mental health services at no cost to you. The providers in this network have an understanding of the issues facing the clergy today. You may contact any of these providers without a referral and will not be charged the $10 co-pay per visit.
